OpenTable and Urbanspoon are pleased to announce that OpenTable has been named the provider of restaurant reservations for Urbanspoon. As part of the agreement, OpenTable has acquired Rezbook, Urbanspoon’s reservation management system for restaurants. A: OpenTable will continue to support these restaurants on the current Rezbook technology and honor the terms of their Rezbook contracts.
Q: Will Rezbook customers be listed on OpenTable.com?
A: No, Rezbook customers will not be listed on OpenTable.com. The Rezbook technology does not communicate with the OpenTable service, so that is not an option available at this time. Diners will continue to be able to book on Urbanspoon as well as on the restaurant’s own website.
Q: Will Rezbook customers’ pricing change?
A: OpenTable will honor the terms of the Rezbook contracts.
Q: What does this mean for restaurants that use both OpenTable and Urbanspoon?
A: We believe this partnership is a great opportunity for customers on the OpenTable network that also accept reservations through Rezbook. With this partnership, these restaurants will continue to accept reservations on Urbanspoon without having to manage availability in a separate reservation book. However, the choice whether or not to continue using Rezbook will be theirs.
Q: What is the expected timing for OpenTable to power reservations on Urbanspoon?
A: We do not yet have a target date but look forward to having the reservation integration in the near future.

In the coming weeks, OpenTable and Urbanspoon will be working together to transition support responsibilities and ensure that customers always have a clear point of contact for any technical or account needs.
Q: Will support for Rezbook still be handled 24/7?
A: The hours of support will not change for Rezbook during the transition.
Q: Will Rezbook customers get access to the value-added benefits that OpenTable offers to their current customers, such as free mobile websites, email marketing tools, online menu integration, credit card –held reservation capability, etc.?
A: These value-added benefits all involve technical integration with OpenTable restaurant products and its diner network. As a result, OpenTable is unable to make these benefits available to Rezbook customers at this time.
Q: Can restaurants that don’t currently use Rezbook purchase the solution from OpenTable?
A: OpenTable will continue to honor existing Rezbook contracts, but Rezbook will not be available for new customers.
